Mufu Onifade, born in 1966. He has B.A in Fine Arts from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile – Ife.

He has been charting and developing freely his own artistic direction and personal vision, leading to a highly creative, intellectual and professional identity. Onifade’s art discourses epitomize the profundity of art history, research and ductility of language. (freeresearchproject).

He originated the painting technique now popularly called Araism. Araism derives from the Yoruba root word, Ara, which means wonder. ARA is also an acronym for Aesthetically Rich Art.

Onifade, has expressed his own original craft in the art, which has a unique feature that makes the works appear as bits that have been carefully pieced together.

Since the establishment and formal launch of the Araism Movement in 2006, Onifade has groomed several young, vibrant artists who have continued to make Nigeria proud with the quality of their original works.
