Adubi “Mydaz” Makinde was born in 1978 and is a self-thought professional artist. He graduated in 2007 from Olabisi Onabanjo University with a Bachelor’s in History and International Relations.

Adubi works along two broad representational styles; a calm academic realism and, a more expressive abstract composition that are inspired by contemporary topics, narratives on philosophy of life and psychology of mind. He brings an original peculiar sense of symbolism and spectacle to the ethereal portraits he mindfully conjures up. As one examines the semi-abstract pictures closely, somewhere in your memories are those images that symbolizes faces and forms of age long afro-centric sculptures.

Since 2006, Adubi has consistently participated in several group shows and art fares in Lagos and across the country and, he is known as a master colorist within the art circle. He proceeded to establish his art career with three impressive solo exhibitions in 2013, 2015 and 2017 respectively in Lagos, Nigeria and is still counting. He lives in Lagos state, Nigeria where he explores his artistic passion in his private studio as a full-time studio painter
